1. Introduction to Duties

 

I am a member of the ‘Business Development Team’, in charge of discovering future business for Hyundai Corporation Holdings. Our team is striving to invest in new business fields at domestic and abroad and to advance to the local market. Among them, I am in charge of developing and managing the “mushroom” business, which is one of the new businesses. I support the operation of overseas joint ventures, discover new investment destinations, and research the feasibility of the business. Currently, mushroom-related investments are made in the UK and Australia, and we are pushing forward an expand into various countries in the future.

Working in the business development team, I am experiencing the value and potential of agricultural and F&B businesses in many parts of the world. I think it is very meaningful because the importance of securing food is emerging day by day in various global crises. It is a business far from what our company has been doing since its foundation, but my goal is to make this business representative of our company.

 

2. Conditions and competencies necessary for business performance

 

As pioneering a new field is the main task, I think the spirit of challenge, curiosity, and perseverance are the core competencies. In addition, communication skills and an open mind to various cultures are required to discover overseas reliable local partners and establish good relationships. Additionally, knowledge of finance/accounting is required for business analysis, and I think it is important to learn constantly to develop these capabilities.
