Hyundai Corporation, a general trading company established a specialized financial company for new technology businesses with the name of Prologue Ventures and has completed the registration with the financial authority for the purpose of challenging the corporate venture capital (CVC).
Hyundai Corporation will be reborn as an “investment-type general trading company” that will enter overseas markets in partnership with domestic small and medium-sized companies. After signing various types of partnerships with small and medium-sized companies that have products and technologies but have difficulties in overseas businesses such as market development, the company will use its global network to clear the way for exports.
Hyundai Corporation is projected to set up a joint venture in Canada along with a Korean eco-friendly deicer startup. This scheme is based on its business diversification strategy promoting the eco-friendly sector as future businesses.
Hyundai Corporation, Hyundai M Partners, Sopoong Ventures, and Startup Island Jeju Private Investment Fund I (Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center and Krypton) have participated in this investment scheme.
